Whether you know it or not,  your learning organization has a Brand! A brand is made up of opinions and everyone has one about your organization.  This session is designed to show you the factors that make up a learning brand, Brand Promise, Brand Marketing, Brand experience and the strategies to research, develop and measure your brand. We will take you through Richmond examples of learning brand development and have exercises to get you started on your own organizations brand.


  • Educate participants on the purpose and value of having a Learning Brand
  • Individual and small team practice in brand perception and a learning profit chain
  • Show how a learning brand impacts engagement and future learning investment

 About the Speakers:

Chris Pellegrino, MPA, SPHR SHRM -SCP

Chris Pellegrino has been working in the field Learning and Development for over 19 years.  He is currently a Human Resources Business Partner at SunTrust Bank. Previously, he was a Director of Global Learning and Development for Genworth Financial with clients in Finance, Sales and IT.  He was also Vice President and College Manager for SunTrust Mortgage managing a staff of 20 Program Managers and Training Specialists.  He has also worked in the public sector as the Executive Director for the VCU School of Business, Center for Corporate Education and Director of Executive Programs for the University of Virginia.

 He has served on numerous Boards of Directors including:

  • Chairman: Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Residential Board of Governors Education Committee
  • Richmond ATD  Board of Directors
  • Virginia Business Leadership Network (VABLN)
  • President: Kings Charter Homeowners Association 950 homes

 He has written several articles including ASTD’s T&D Magazine and presented at two of the national ASTD Conferences.   He served with distinction in the United State Navy as an Aviator with his commission from the Cornell University NROTC program. Chris lives in Richmond, Virginia with his wife Karen and three children, Alex, Ryan, and Melanie. 

Bob Huebner, Chief Learning Officer, Bluestone Process Dynamics

In 2013, Bob joined Bluestone Process Dynamics as Chief Learning Officer. Bob’s primary focus is on helping clients build the capabilities to achieve their business goals of today and the future. In this role, he has developed multi-level leadership development frameworks for business to business and Fortune 500 clients. He also dedicates time to facilitating key meetings and processes and coaches individual clients to build capabilities and solve problems.

Bob most recently led global talent development at Genworth Financial, a company of more than 6500 employees in more than 25 countries.  Bob joined Genworth Financial while they were divesting from General Electric in 2004. His first responsibility was to “replace Crotonville” for the many existing and future leaders at Genworth by creating a renewed leadership development curriculum. Since then, Bob broadened his responsibilities, focusing on new and innovative ways to help people learn that result in improved company performance.  In doing so, Bob:

Expanded the use of non-traditional training solutions, including action learning and social learning tools to drive leadership development and business acumen

Implemented new design, analytics and metrics techniques to measure and drive business outcomes

Scaled successful technical development approaches to the global organization to enable quicker, improved product development/management

Bob’s business experience includes operations management, organization effectiveness and talent development positions for JCPenney (retail distribution, telemarketing), Owens & Minor (medical/surgical distribution), Chesterfield County, Virginia and Virginia Credit Union.  He speaks and consults on topics such as Driving Performance to New Levels, Leading Change and Re-thinking Career Paths. He has served as adjunct faculty for community colleges, worked on advisory councils for the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee and the University of Richmond, and has held Board positions with ASTD and International Personnel Management Association. Bob currently serves on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Central Virginia. Bob holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in business administration, among other professional certifications.
