ATD GREATER RICHMOND CHAPTER BOARD MEMBERS

Lauren Philip, CPTD has had the benefit of navigating in diverse and multicultural environments, having worked in several Caribbean islands as well as the United States.  She is the Manager of Human Resources and System Initiatives at the Virginia Community College System.  As the Principal Consultant at LP Consulting, she has worked with several organizations, leading change initiatives that help business partners increase their competitive advantage by leveraging their human capital. 

Lauren holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Human Resource Management and Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and a Master’s degree in Education - Human Resource Development from Virginia Commonwealth University.

 
Shanaye La Beaud is a creative and driven young professional eagerly exploring the learning and development space. She currently serves as the Training & Development Manager at Elephant Insurance. While new to the L&D space, she also has 5 years of experience in people management and call center operations. She is passionate about building strong leaders and making development opportunities available to people at all levels in their career journey.

Shanaye is a graduate of VCU’s Executive MBA program (2019) and holds a SHRM-CP certification (2020). She loves to share knowledge and find unique ways to help others discover new insights. As Director of Live Events, her goal is to create engaging and impactful experiences for members to expand their knowledge, skills, and share best practices with one another. These events you won’t want to miss!
 
Rodney Steppe has years of experience in various areas including human resources, instructional design, and technology to name a few. He had his first experience in facilitation years ago and looks forward to doing more in adult learning. Rodney enjoys giving back to the community. He has volunteered for multiple organizations in Richmond and recently began volunteering for a hospice organization. Rodney always welcomes the opportunity to meet new people and try new things.

Rodney received his Masters of Education - Human Resource Development and a Bachelors of Arts in Spanish from Virginia Commonwealth University. 

 
Jose Cervantes is the Director of Learning and Development for Customer Operations at Sentara Health Plans.  He completed his undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Information Technology with concentrations in Decision Support Systems, Operations Management and Leadership.  Jose spent the first half of his professional career in IT and healthcare operations.  After holding various leadership positions in these respective areas, he made a career shift to learning and development.  He found a passion in helping train and coach people to succeed at their current roles, while developing and inspiring them to grow beyond.  Today, he leads a team responsible for executing that mission by supporting thousands of Sentara employees throughout the state of Virginia.

In addition to his role with Sentara, Jose is a certified professional coach, trainer, speaker and entrepreneur.  With a presence across the United States, the Caribbean and South America, Jose offers a holistic approach to helping people achieve life and professional goals.
 
  Tom Coltrain works in LMS implementation and administration at Dominion Energy. He brings over 8 years experience working with a variety of clients in diverse industries consulting on human resources, training, strategy, software implementation, and project management.  

Tom received a B.S. in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Masters in Human Resources Management from the University of Richmond.

 
Nelly Loyola, CPTD has over ten years of experience delivering projects and managing talent in different companies and industries. Early in her career, she worked in a boutique talent management consulting firm. There she led talent management projects in the best companies located in Perú, in different industries such as mining, consumer goods, aviation, and mass media. Later, she was in charge for more than four years of the talent strategy and global management of a group that has three business units: Agriculture, aquaculture, and trading. In her last position, she was the Human Development Manager of a consumer goods company in which she was responsible for the improvement of the talent strategy, implementation, and management.

She has a degree in Clinical Psychology from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), a Master’s in Organizational Development from Universidad del Pacífico (UP), and she is a Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD). She also has a specialization in Applied Statistics from PUCP and Change Management from Incae Business School.

 
Katy Wolda, CPTD Katy Wolda is a seasoned educator and trainer with expertise and experience in talent development, adult learning, business development and special education.  She has over 29 years of industry experience where she worked as a special education teacher before venturing into the automotive industry.  She has served in different managerial, leadership and training positions in various companies and is running her own consulting firm, Where is Wolda. She offers training and facilitation, coaching, mentoring and change management programs aimed at helping people to maximize their performance.

Katy is passionate about helping people and she is always poised to leverage her proficiency in education and talent development to help people maximize their potential in their professional and personal lives. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Special Education and a master’s degree in Human Development from the University of Nebraska. She is a Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) and a Certified DISC instructor.

 
Charles Zoffuto creates training for Tridium/Honeywell spearheading the work focused on the Internet of Things. He creates elearning that teaches employees and customers how to use products that allow people and machines to communicate and collaborate. He has been an instructional designer and elearning developer since 2000. He has built courses on topics that range from soft skills for HR clients to technical skills for engineers in the Nuclear Power industry. 

Charles received a B.S. in Education from The Citadel and a Masters in Educational Psychology from the University of Tennessee. He enjoys using CAD to design things to 3D print, building in his shop, or cooking for his family. 

 
Tiffanie Lee is a learning and development trainer with a passion to see others coached, developed, and succeeding. She is the CEO of CrossOver Coaching and Consulting, which specializes in the cultivation of career-minded individuals and growth models for business. Through CrossOver, she has spoken at conferences geared toward motivating the business-minded individual. In addition to CrossOver, she also currently serves as a Customer Service Trainer for Elephant Insurance. In this role, she develops material for both digital learning platforms and instructor-led training. Over the last 13 years, she has worked in management positions at companies like Comcast and T-Mobile, developing their frontline to achieve desired results.

Outside of her coaching and training career, Tiffanie is an ordained minister with the State of Virginia, and enjoys working alongside her husband in ministry. She also enjoys playing the piano, writing music, and spending time with her family.

 
 

Erin Chancellor is an instructional designer with a passion for providing learning opportunities to help people better their careers. She dives into needs assessment, analytics, and project management with enthusiasm, and strives to make learning easily accessible to everyone in this digital age. Her most rewarding work comes from a blend of instructional design, marketing, branding, and building relationships. Currently working in enablement at a software development company, she pulls on her strengths to deliver with excellence at work while also building an authentic personal brand online.

Erin holds a master’s degree in Education from Virginia Commonwealth University with an endorsement to teach English to speakers of other languages, and she has appeared as a guest speaker on numerous podcasts and webinars in the global eLearning and instructional design space. When not developing curriculum, chatting with SMEs, and designing engaging eLearning courses, Erin can be found tending to her plants and flowers, cultivating the green thumb she inherited from her grandmother.

 
 

Liz Fillman brings over 15 years of experience in adult education and training development.  She currently serves as the Assistant Director for the Virginia Tech Richmond Center.  She has worked within other higher education institutions including the Community College Workforce Alliance at John Tyler and Reynolds Community Colleges, the Office of Continuing and Professional Education at Virginia Commonwealth University and Continuing and Professional Education at Virginia Tech.

Her passion is helping professionals develop skills that allow them to continuously advance their career and helping organizations develop and engage their employees through valuable training initiatives.

She holds a bachelor’s from Virginia Tech and a MBA from the University of Maryland Global Campus.

Sandra Smith, CPTD brings over twenty years of teaching, training, coaching, instructional design, technical writing, content development, and editing experience with her to our Board.  She has owned several educationally-focused businesses and has consulted with many Fortune 500 & Fortune 100 organizations.  Sandra's passion is eLearning and she enjoys creating engaging educational content.  Presently, she is is a Senior Instructional Designer at USAA.

Sandra has a Bachelor's degree in Biology and is an avid gardener. She also enjoys watching (both people and) plants grow! 
 
Kevin Clarke comes to the Board with over 20 years of management experience with a passion for Training and Development. He has been a mentor, trainer and facilitator at various points throughout his career. For the past few years, Kevin has helped to lead and support several strategic initiatives at CarMax.  

Kevin holds a MBA and a Masters in Human Resource Management.

 

Kelli Frey, CPTD is an Associate Director of Learning & Development at EAB. She has a demonstrated history of excellence in coaching, instructional design & delivery, facilitation, eLearning development, learning program management, and more. With over a decade in both nonprofit and for profit experience in encouraging development in her community.

She holds a BS, Business Administration with a focus in HR and Marketing from California State University - Fresno.
