The Power of Peer Learning

Have you ever felt stretched thin due to the volume of requests for training and development? Do you tend of think of learning and development based on available course offerings?
Development professionals often find themselves with high demand for learning opportunities, yet limited resources to deliver on that demand. This is especially true when our focus is formal learning programs.
The 70-20-10 principle teaches that 90% of development comes through informal means such as experience (70%) and relationships (20%). This session will examine 20% learning opportunities through peer learning, a resource which takes pressure away from learning professionals, by giving colleagues an opportunity to share their knowledge, perspectives, and experience.

Investing in others and helping them grow to their full potential has always been a sweet spot for Consuelo. Earning her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Virginia, Consuelo began her career in the field of Workplace Learning back in 2002 and it just stuck. Her work experience includes leadership development, course design, facilitation, and coaching.
Upon venturing into this career path, she quickly realized that she had a gift for bringing out the best in others. She further enhanced that ability by attaining a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Her favorite part about what she does is empowering individuals to grow and reach the next level.
